Palette
of History -
America
has been revolutionized, revitalized and transformed
since the one time advertisement for Bull Durham
Tobacco appeared in 1914. While the nation flourished,
the massive bull was humbled by time and weather.
The
mural renovation was done in 2002, when a local
artist recreated the bull that graced the
side of the Back Road barn for nearly a century.
The artist dined at the barn - now converted to
a seafood restaurant - and remembered being struck
by the land's enormity. She noticed the bull had
lost a lot of its muscle, so set out to resurrect
its powerful, untamed spirit.
